Triad Early Childhood is accepting nominations for the annual
Children's Champion awards.


 This year, we will be honoring "unsung heroes", early learning professionals. Nominations must be submitted by families utilizing the services. Please distribute to families you serve. Nominees will be recognized at a dinner on June 2nd, and three winners will be announced.

Triad, the Early Childhood Council for the counties of Clear Creek, Gilpin, and Jefferson, is part of a system of Early Childhood Councils designated under Colorado HB1062. Triad is composed of public and private stakeholders engaged in collaborative planning and decision making to improve quality, access, and equity outcomes for young children.

Vision:  

Our communities thrive.

Mission:  

We will improve the quality of life for young children, prenatal-age 8, and their families in the Triad counties
by utilizing our communities’ unique resources to shape policy, finance, and service delivery.

Desired Overall Outcomes

  • The development of a comprehensive early childhood system that addresses early care and education, health, mental health, and family support related to children prenatal through age eight years.

  • The existence of resources and collaborations leading to the availability of services that are easily accessed, of high quality, culturally responsive, and sustainable.

  • Heightened public awareness regarding the importance of investments in early childhood.

  • The creation public policy that supports best practice and improved service delivery for young children and their families.

Triad Early Childhood Council is

About Our Work

As we continue our work in the development of a comprehensive early childhood system, we focus on the following domains:

• Early Care and Education

• Health (including a medical home for every child)

• Mental Health

• Family Support

When looking at services across the four noted domains, Triad, like all of the Early Childhood Councils in Colorado, also aligns our work with the goals established by Colorado’s Early Childhood Framework.

To date, our work includes the following services:

• Specialized programs enhancing the quality child care for infants and toddlers (EQIT)

• On-site technical assistance and funding to child care facilities engaged in quality improvement and increasing their Colorado Shines level

• Partnerships to improve physical and mental health outcomes for children

• Advocacy for policies that allow for quality, access, and equity of services for young children and their families

• Serving as a local “gathering table” for planning, discussion, and problem solving related to early childhood programs and supports

• Serving as the Local Interagency Coordinating Council (LICC) for Early Intervention services

• Supports specific to operation of licensed family child care and family, friend, and neighbor care (legally exempt)
